John Jacobson

John Jacobson joined Quest in June 2009 as Receiving Inspector in the Quality Department. The following year he assumed the position of Quality Engineer/Systems Quality Assurance, where he worked with key departments to maintain compliance with FAA Regulations and Type Design. He also served as Quest’s Quality Department FAA Liaison and contact with the MIDO office. Jacobson was promoted to Quality Manager, and then to Director of Quality. He currently serves as Vice President, Quality Assurance and is responsible for the development, implementation and oversight of all aspects and day-to-day activities of the company’s FAA-approved Quality System.

Jacobson’s responsibilities have included serving as the company’s Quality Representative to external entities such as the FAA, customers and suppliers. He has overseen the successful passing of the FAA bi-annual Quality Systems Audits (QSA) and was responsible for the development and implementation of the processes and procedures regarding Quest’s Quality Assurance program. He is an active participant in Quest’s Product Integrity Team and holds the leading role in internal investigations regarding product issues.

Prior to joining Quest, Jacobson spent 30 years with Qwest Communications, Inc. in a variety of positions. Key experience includes overseeing telecommunications infrastructure installation/testing for new construction, trouble-shooting, customer service and managing work crews. During this time, Jacobson served as a Volunteer Firefighter/EMS Officer for 10 years, retiring as Captain of one of the three stations in the district.

Jacobson’s post high-school education includes college courses in electronics, physics, science and drafting. He has taken continuing education courses in computer hardware and software and received Certificates of Completion in Core Hardware and Operating Systems. He has a detailed knowledge of FAA Rules and Regulations and also AS9100 and ISO9001 quality systems.
