Nick Newby brings over 20 years of aviation experience to his position at Quest. He is well-versed in the sales, marketing and service aspects of the aviation industry, both domestically and internationally.
Newby began his aviation career as an airframe and powerplant mechanic for Columbia Helicopters. In this position, he traveled the western United States, Canada, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia, handling field logistics and maintenance during helicopter logging, firefighting and oil exploration operations.
In 1997, Newby joined Cessna Aircraft Company as a Citation mechanic, moving quickly through the ranks to increasingly responsible maintenance and sales positions. He was promoted to the position of Customer Solution Manager, focusing on pre-sales, contracts and delivery responsibilities for the European, Middle East and African markets.
Newby then moved to Jeppesen, A Boeing Company, and served as Product Manager of Airway Manual Services, responsible for increasing global revenues while decreasing expenses for the company’s flagship product line. He then transitioned to New Product Development Manager, focusing on the development of products and services to ease the transition for customers moving from paper to electronic navigation products.
Leaving Jeppesen, Newby assumed the position of Vice President of Customer Service at Pilatus Business Aircraft. During his tenure with Pilatus, the company was voted the #1 Customer Service Organization in the ProPilot PRASE Survey in the turboprop category.
In 2009, he took on a new opportunity with Honda Aircraft Company as Manager, European Sales. In this position, Newby was instrumental in establishing a HondaJet Dealership network in the United Kingdom and Europe. During that time, he was also responsible for managing HondaJet’s Eastern Regional Office.
Newby then rejoined Cessna as Regional Sales Director where he led the sales activities for all models of new and pre-owned Citation Jet aircraft in the Southwest and Southeast United States.
Newby is a certified private pilot and holds an airframe and powerplant license. He has been the recipient of three “Leading Edge” award from Cessna recognizing customer dedication and excellence, as well as the recipient of the prestigious “President’s Pin” at Jeppesen. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in E-Commerce Management from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas.
