Aircraft Now Certified in Panama
October 29, 2012, Orlando, FL….Quest Aircraft Company, manufacturer of the KODIAK, is pleased to announce that it has received certification from the Civil Aviation Authority of Panama, the Autoridad Aeronáutica Civil (AAC). The KODIAK is now certified in more than 10 countries, with additional certifications in process.
Quest is also pleased to announce that it is has delivered the first KODIAK to a Panamanian operator. The customer plans to use the KODIAK as a charter aircraft, with an emphasis on transporting tourists to their destinations. The KODIAK’s efficiency, reliability and ability to carry people with baggage and equipment will suit this mission well.
“We are excited that the KODIAK has achieved certification in another Latin American country,” said Steve Zinda, Director of Sales and Marketing. “We have had a lot of interest from a variety of market segments in this region and this latest certification will enhance our sales efforts there.” The KODIAK received both Brazilian and Mexican certification earlier this year.
Since beginning customer deliveries in late 2007, the KODIAK has achieved certification in multiple countries and been deployed around the world in a variety of applications. KODIAKs are in service with charter operators, small businesses, personal owners, U.S. and international governments, and humanitarian organizations. Several KODIAKs on floats have been delivered, including nine float-equipped KODIAKs to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
“The KODIAK’s unique attributes are well-suited to the varying needs of each customer,” Zinda continued. “The aircraft’s speed coupled with its STOL and other performance capabilities truly make the KODIAK a superb multi-mission aircraft. It’s low operating cost also make it especially attractive for charter operators.”
The KODIAK’s rugged aluminum construction combines superior STOL performance and high useful load. It offers proven turbine reliability with the Pratt & Whitney PT6 turbine engine, has the ability to land and take off from unimproved surfaces and is capable of working off floats without structural upgrades. The KODIAK can take off in under 1,000 feet at full gross takeoff weight of 7,255 lbs and climb at over 1,300 feet per minute. A 3-panel Garmin G1000 integrated avionics suite including Synthetic Vision Technology is standard equipment on the KODIAK.
Quest Aircraft Company is the manufacturer of the KODIAK, a 10-place single engine turboprop utility airplane, designed for STOL use and float capability. Headquartered in Sandpoint, Idaho, the company was established in 2001 and began deliveries of the KODIAK in December 2007. For more information, please visit www.questaircraft.com.
