Prototype on Display at EAA AirVenture
July 25, 2011, Oshkosh, WI...Quest Aircraft Company is displaying a KODIAK aircraft with the new executive interior at this year's EAA AirVenture (Booth #263-264). The interior was developed and installed by Wipaire, Inc. The aircraft on display is furnished with the prototype for the interior, and the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) is in progress.
"We have had customer feedback on their desire for an executive interior," said Steve Zinda, Director, Sales and Marketing. "We have been evaluating moving forward on this for some time and are very pleased that the experienced team at Wipaire has partnered with us to develop this particular interior."
The executive interior will be available through the STC and the installation will take place at Wipaire's facility in Minnesota. Wipaire is also an authorized service center for the KODIAK. Any KODIAK already delivered as well as those currently in production are able to have the executive interior installed in the aircraft.
Some of the features of the executive interior include executive seating for up to six passengers, tables and cabinets veneered with hardwood accents, modular sidewalls with arm ledge, forward refreshment cabinets, premium wool carpet, and a lavatory with privacy curtain. The executive seats recline and swivel and have forward, aft and side-to-side tracking capabilities.
"We have delivered over 50 KODIAKs, all of which have either a Tundra or Timberline interior," added Zinda. "We have begun to work on refinements to enhance both these interiors. With the availability of an executive interior, there is truly a KODIAK for any mission." Development of a factory-installed Summit executive interior is under review, which will result in even more options available to KODIAK customers.
Quest has seen strong market acceptance in key market segments, including personal use, Part 135 operations, government, and humanitarian organizations. The versatile KODIAK's rugged aluminum construction combines superior STOL performance and high useful load. It offers proven turbine reliability with the Pratt & Whitney PT6 turbine engine, has the ability to land and take off from unimproved surfaces and is capable of working off floats without structural upgrades. The KODIAK can take off in under 1,000 feet at full gross takeoff weight of 7,255 lbs and climb at over 1,300 feet per minute. A 3-panel Garmin G1000 integrated avionics suite including Synthetic Vision Technology is standard equipment on the KODIAK.
Quest Aircraft Company, LLC is the manufacturer of the KODIAK, a 10-place single engine turboprop utility airplane, designed for STOL use and float capability. Headquartered in Sandpoint, Idaho, the company was established in 2001 and began deliveries of the KODIAK in December 2007. For more information, please visit www.questaircraft.com.
