First KODIAK Delivered to Namibia

October 21, 2014, Orlando, FL….Quest Aircraft Company is pleased to announce the delivery of the first KODIAK to a Namibian operator. The aircraft was delivered to Scenic Air Nambia, PTY, LTD by SkyQuest Africa.

“There is great market potential for the KODIAK in Africa,” said Steve Zinda, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Quest Aircraft. “This is the 7th KODIAK in operation on the continent and with its versatility, reliability and performance capabilities, we expect to see more in service in the near future.”

Scenic Air, based at Eros, Windhoek, Namibia, will operate the KODIAK to transport passengers on routes to and from the many pristine lodges of Namibia. It will also be used for sightseeing flights over the Namibian landscape.

“SkyQuest Africa has done an excellent job representing the KODIAK in Africa,” added Zinda. “When we began our strategic expansion, we focused on partnering with premier organizations with local knowledge to represent Quest in the international marketplace. This continues to be our strategy and it serves us well.

“I would also like to thank Scenic Air for being the first KODIAK operator in Namibia,” Zinda continued. “We find that once one of our aircraft is seen in operation, it boosts our sales and marketing efforts in that region. We are confident the KODIAK will be an asset to Scenic Air’s operation, and also look forward to more KODIAKs flying in Namibia and other African countries.”

The KODIAK’s rugged aluminum construction combines superior STOL performance and high useful load. It offers proven turbine reliability with the Pratt & Whitney PT6 turbine engine, has the ability to land and take off from unimproved surfaces and is capable of working off floats without structural upgrades. The KODIAK can take off in under 1,000 feet at full gross takeoff weight of 7,255 lbs and climb at over 1,300 feet per minute. Quest has seen strong market acceptance in key market segments around the world, including personal use, Part 135 operations, government, and humanitarian organizations.

The KODIAK is certified in 17 countries, with several additional certifications imminent.

Quest Aircraft Company, headquartered in Sandpoint, Idaho, is the manufacturer of the KODIAK, a 10-place single engine turboprop airplane, designed for STOL use and float capability. Since beginning customer deliveries in late 2007, the KODIAK has been deployed around the world in a variety of applications. For more information, please visit www.questaircraft.com.
